Line Up & CADs

Final Line Up

Final Line up: Im quite happy with how my line up looks its quite balanced, in colour and pattern. above I have scanned my fabric samples so show the colours as fabrics. For the heads I used a head shot of the model I photographed for my photoshoot, I also used images of the models skin and used it for the legs and arms. Although I am happy with my line up i wish I could have added more designs.

CADs

Above are all my designs with CADs along side them.

Sketchbook/Overall Evaluation

Please watch using headphones.

Over all I am quite pleased with this part of the project and I do believe I have done all that I could with the amount of time that I had. I feel I have produced a collection that is unique and interesting a long with a variation of illustrations, accessories and I also created a photoshoot to show the possibilities of promoting my collection. I believe I have done all that I had set out to do and more. When doing this part of the assignment the thing I struggled with the most is research as writing has never been my strength. This is why my tutor suggested that I should create videos for my evaluations which I have done along with the writing in hope that I have met the criteria and gained the grades I hope for.

The Photoshoot

Here are some of the images I managed to edit, Over all I am pleased with the outcome of this shoot and believe I have done what I had set out to do when creating this shoot. I like the variation of shots although not all the shots are as good as I wanted I do believe there are a few really great ones. if I was to do the shoot again I was add a little more colour possibly used a brighter coloured blanket. however I do think that working with the possibilities I had I have created a good selection of shots for a possible advertisement/ campaign.

Tags & Packaging

Here are my final samples of my chosen tags, after trying out various methods as you will see within my sketchbook review, I have experimented with various materials and fabrics. I felt these tags were best suited to my collection as I wanted a professional finish but with a element of morocco, and i feel I have met my own expectations.

As you can see above I have simply chosen brown box packaging as I believe that its best suited as I did not want to complicate things, I feel this looks good and works well with my over all colour theme throughout. not only does this suit my colour palette but I believe this packaging looks clean and professional.

illustration workshop

Still life drawing.

This was the 1st still life drawing I did as you can see still life is not for me, generally you can see what i'm trying to draw but unfortunately its not in proportion.
This is my second drawing using fine liner and coloured markers to high light light and shade, I enjoyed doing this one a little more than the first as I felt this one look better and I found it more interesting to do as colour was involved.

The 3rd drawing I did I also used fine liner and coloured markers along with black ink. over all i'm not best pleased with how it turned out but I do believe the more drawings I do the better my skills will become.

Still life class was not my favourite thing to do, I tried out various methods and used different types of media for example, pencil, fine liner, ink and markers. Doing this gave me an idea of how I could Possible create some of my illustrations for example highlighting shadows with colour or even draping ink to add different interesting effects.

This illustration was created by drawing around a image on illustrator then moving to adobe photoshop, I then added prints and a face and repeated the image several times to create this edgy illustration. I also added stripes in clock colour as I wanted a variation of block colour and print. over all I am pleased with the outcome of this illustration.
For this illustration I took a photograph of the model I had done the photoshoot with and drew over it on illustrator to create this image then opened within photoshop and added the print this is not the nest illustration although I do feel it is simple and works well with the collection.

Add caption

Above I have created these illustrations by repeating the face above several times. and adding colour to the second one this works well and the colours within my collection are within it and I have wanted to create cool edgy illustrations.

Here for this illustration I have used the image above but I used these colourful beads to life the image. by adding these embellishments I believe the illustration stands out and fits well with my overall theme.

here I have used some of my fabric samples to give a more 2D affect and working in to the illustration by drawing over the image using a fine liner.

Accessories

When I decided on making accessories I new that I wanted to design bags along with something else as I did not want to do the obvious by designing jewellery as there is already a lot of moroccan inspired jewellery out there.  when looking at designers such as YSL and there moroccan inspired collections I really loved how they used traditional scarfs and turned them into amazing fashion accessories as you can see above. I decided I also wanted to design head scarfs but one that would be used as a head band as I felt this look is fitting with my collection. Below are a few different designs I have created using the prints I had already developed as I felt it was quite fitting and they also compliment my designs within my collection.

I created the above using illustrator drawing around a photograph I had taken myself then saving the drawing as a pdf and opening it up within Adobe Photoshop and playing around with  my prints and fabric samples I had scanned on to my laptop. I felt this would be the best way to see how my prints would look as a headscarf. I am pleased with the designs I feel they work quite well with my collection. I have decided to order some fabric samples with prints on such as Organza, silk and chiffon in order for me to see what fabric will be best suited as a headband.  I will display my fabrics within my sketch book and explain my choices within my evaluation.

Above are all the bags I have designed, again I drew around images of a bag styles I liked on illustrator then saved as a pdf and moved to photoshop, where I had the chance to experiment with colours and different variations of bag designs. I had originally intended on creating the bottom far left bag with red and blue print with orange tassel however when starting this I came across some difficulties as I had originally intended on heat pressing my design on to a thick woven fabric. When I did this unfortunately the colour did not work as well as I had hoped as you can see below. however I decided I would not waste this fabric and figured I would make use of it some how so decided on embellishing the bag and making a real statement.

Below, finished clutch bag embellished with tassels, I am happy with how it looks, although when making it I came across a few difficulties because of the fabric used. When I cut into the fabric it began to fray, I had intended on the clutch to be a little smaller but had to make it larger as I did not want to damage the beads when bending the fabric. So if I was to make this bag again I would probably look at using a different fabric.

Above two scarfs I had my designs printed on to, I am not best pleased with how the colours have come out on the blue scarf, the colour is dull and does not quite work with my designs,  however it does photograph well and I do like how this fabric (100% pure organza) holds. The orange printed scarf works well colour wise how ever I am not 100% pleased with the fabric (100% pure Chiffon) and how it falls. But again I do like how it photographs, I feel the design works well with my collection, however if i was to make this again I would probably use some form of silk as I feel it would work well.
