Page layouts
After much deliberation testing different styles as you can see below I finally chose a layout finding the right balance took a while but who knows I may even change it again.
Below is my final look for presenting my primary images. I feel the balance is right and all the right details are in the right place.
Here is the 1st attempt of a concept board I tried many more I just want to make sure my whole sketchbook flows.
This below is my final concept board many hours later I believe it looks the best it can but I'm not 100% happy if I have time I may go back and change it.

Key words and mood board of secondary images I waned to create simple yet eye catching pages throughout my sketchbook as presentation for me is key Im not best pleased with the outcome however when advising my tutor she reassured me that this looked ok.

Fabric samples created taking inspiration from primary pictures as I want some form of embroidery within my designs I decided to create these. I started by drawing a section of my primary image then replicating my drawing using stitch on blue cord I then went on and replicated it on orange satin. I felt as they were lacking something so I decided on developing it further by replicating the design again on orange wool using green stitch (all of these colours are inspired by morocco)and worked into it my hand embellishing my sample I really like the outcome. I intend on developing this further by scanning my sample and repeating it on photoshop.

For these Fabric samples I drew a section of my primary image then went on replicate my drawing using stitch. I 'm not to fond of the outcome, I then created the pattern using paint then folding the the fabric and pressed it down however it was lacking something so I added these gold paper clips to create a studded embellishment. Again I was not best please so I decide on replicating the pattern on orange woven fabric using green thread then adding the gold paper clips I felt this looked a lot better. Although this outcome was better than most I was still not happy with these samples so I decided to use some to create prints.

For these samples I started by simply recreating the design off my primary image using different fabrics and threads. The top samples seem simple, however I intend on using these to create prints. I then started replicating the designs loosely as I wanted to come away from the harsh lines. the reason behind this was to modernise moroccan patterns. I did this my using a zigzag stitch and leaving the threads rather than cutting them for a cleaner finish I really like how these look however I will add some beads to lift the samples.

When looking at moroccan details on garments and furnishings I noticed that tassels are used a lot within moroccan design so I decided to make my own. I made different sized tassels in different colours to get an understanding of how they would look. I felt the first set of tassels were not as great as I hoped for them to be so I decided to make more and add beading. The tassels look ok, however I do want them to have a shiny finish. I found that it wouldn't be cost effective to buy this kind of thread as it worked out around £1.50 each to make my own. So I have decided if I use tassels within my final designs I will buy the tassels ready made.
